Dear readers, Nearly 16 years ago, I received an email from Megan McArdle asking if I was interested in trying out for a slot writing for The Economist’s economics blog, Free Exchange. Up to that point, my résumé as a journalist consisted of some work for my college newspaper, writing and editing at DCist, and a personal blog with a readership that soared into the hundreds after being linked to by Matthew Yglesias. I quickly replied to say yes, and thus began the most unlikely of careers at one of the great journalistic institutions.
My very best wishes to you. I am going to miss miss the days following reading your "Bellows" mulling over your stimulating thoughts. They gave me a clearer understanding & appreciation of the intersections of social norms, democracy, & economic systems.
Congratulations! And good luck in your new adventure. It has been a pleasure to read your newsletter. I follow your work since meeting you in Lindau ten years ago.
Hard to believe it's been 16 years - even back in those early days, I remember getting excited at seeing the initials "R.A." on the Free Exchange blog bylines, as your posts were both well written and influential in forming my understanding of economics. Congratulations on your career, and best of luck on your next venture.

Would you consider using this to let us all know what does happen next, when in fact it does?
Godspeed and look forward to what you write next!
RA In a way, sad! All the best in your new endeavors. If its not asking too much, once in a while give me some feedback on Money Fetish.
Good luck Ryan! I've really enjoyed reading you for all these years and wish you the best of luck.

Best of luck, and I am looking forward to your next book!
Sad to see you go. Looking forward to your book. I guess no idea for a title yet?
And, Cheers to you as well. Nothing renews, Ryan, as much as a renewal and I sense that you're ready to go meet a new challenge. Here's to you!
